About this speaker
Sharolyn Wynter is the founder and CEO of Xpat, Inc. and creator of The Xpat App, which connects the global Black community that works, studies, and lives abroad. With more than 20k members representing over 160 countries and territories, the app is home to the world's largest global directory of Black expats, nomads, and study abroad students.
Sharolyn is on a mission to improve the social mobility and overall wellbeing of her community by providing exposure and access to experiences, networks, and opportunities abroad. As the child of immigrant parents, her mission has been heavily influenced by her humble upbringings in Detroit and visits to her family’s homeland of Jamaica. These experiences planted the seed for her travels to over 50 countries and expat experiences in the UK and Portugal, which she now calls home. Before moving to Portugal, the Spelman grad was a Big 4 consultant for over 10 years, primarily working with financial services clients.
In 2019, Sharolyn made the bold move to quit her job and take a career break which took her on the most liberating journey of her life. It was during her career break that Xpat Chats and the Xpat App was born!
